The Gordon Zoo

Such a famous Zoo!

Why would anyone from a famous Zoo take time out of their busy schedule, take time out of their busy lives and on top of that be interested in coming to our school out in the sticks in a small village with a name I could just about pronounce, nevertheless spell, O-S-T-E-N-T-A-T-I-O-U-S?

I can't think of or even remember us having anything exotic or interesting here in our school laboratory or even in the garden. Or do we? Then, again, I am only 7 years old, remember, I don't know everything!

The head teacher made an announcement over the PA system and we all screamed with excitement.

Mr James said "we are having visitors, we are having a h-e-r-p-e-t-o-l-o-g-i-s-t and her scientist team visit our school and my class, St Emmanuel's on Monday."

Wow! Wow! Wow!

My best friend Maddy and I whispered eagerly to each other in class. This weekend will be too long and what do they expect us to do with all this excitement and eagerness over the weekend? I won't be able to sleep!

Everyone in class was buzzing and our Maths teacher tried to calm us down. Mrs Dubai said "Quiet class. quiet everyone!" I don't think anyone was listening the excitement was louder than the lesson, we were excited!

Mrs Dubai said in a strict, high pitche voice, "Be quiet St Emmanuel's," then there was a silence that you could feel. It didn't last very long because it was the end of the school day and time to go home with this joy and excitement in our hearts looking forward to the next week, the next school day wishing and hoping we could skip the weekend, just this once!
